Bees are my passion. Already at the age of 12 I was fascinated by the work with these industrious animals. In Canada I gained further experience as a beekeeper and then spent 15 years travelling the world with VIP guests as a pilot. Since 2018 I am again the proud owner of several bee colonies.
Did you know that bees pollinate 80% of all plants in Europe? Or that in parts of China there are no bees anymore and therefore people have to pollinate fruit trees by hand? Bees are essential for the nutrition of mankind. At the same time, bee mortality is becoming increasingly dramatic. In Switzerland, monocultures and dwindling biodiversity are a particular problem. The fight against the varroa mite introduced by China is also very costly. Due to these difficult conditions, we are now not only lacking bees, but increasingly also beekeepers.
With bee sponsorships I would like to counteract this development: More bees should once again pollinate more plants and safeguard biodiversity in the long term. By sponsoring a bee colony, you are not only promoting biodiversity, but also the nature-oriented work of us Swiss beekeepers. The bee colony bears your name and is nurtured and cared for by me. You are allowed to visit the colony and me once a year, to ask questions and also to lend a hand yourself. In addition, I give you three kilos of honey that your own bees have collected. The bee sponsorship costs 360 Fr. per year and can also be given away. Who has ever received an inventive gift like a colony of bees, which also helps the environment?
Even as a company you can make your contribution to biodiversity. With a bee sponsorship for companies, you yourself decide where I should place the hives (wooden containers) for you. On the roof? In the garden? Or rather at my home? You are not only doing something good for the environment, but you can also keep the honey from your colonies yourself. Many also give the liquid gold to their loyal customers or employees as a token of appreciation.
