Right next to the castle tower is our farm, which my wife Emma and I have been running since 1994. Our farm shop is located directly on the way to the seaside and the landing stage. So if you need a healthy snack for in between, we are the right place for you. Whether cherries, honey or tender veal: we only sell food produced by ourselves. It is important to us that our customers know how the animals are kept and who produces their food – because in the supermarket you can’t get cherries that were still hanging from the tree the same morning. People appreciate the quality of our products and are therefore already willing to pay a little more than for the imported food from mass production of the wholesalers.
There is also great interest in the media when we bring our cattle to the Ufenau island in spring in an over 100-year-old wooden ship. In this way we are continuing the tradition of the Einsiedeln Monastery of letting the animals graze on Switzerland’s largest island during the summer. Because the ten-minute journey requires a great deal of balance, three people each travel with us in order to be able to balance immediately. Once there, the cattle are almost unstoppable and look forward to the lush island grass, which they can eat until October before returning to the mainland.
Why don’t you drop by when you are in the neighbourhood. Our company is centrally located and only 10 minutes on foot from the railway station or the seaside. The farm shop is open daily in summer. We look forward to your visit to the castle estate in Pfäffikon SZ.
