On the 23 hectare Kappelmatt farm, we have been producing milk and fruit for five generations using controlled and sustainable IP cultivation methods. True to the motto “Farmers for generations”, IP-Suisse producers promote biodiversity and protect natural resources. Diversity is important – not only the diversity of animals and plants, but also of ecosystems and forms of use. This is the only way to ensure sustainability.
Since Aldo’s parents took over the farm in 2008, we have already received several awards from Braunvieh Schweiz and our sweet must has reached 2nd place in the cantonal sweet apple juice competition in 2018. In addition, our farm is a model farm for the Pfäffikon vocational training centre and we also organise guided tours for employees.
So there’s always something going on at the Gianella family in Schwyz. In summer and autumn there is a lot of activity: apples, pears, plums and cherries hang ripe on the more than 140 tall trees and are picked by hand. A part of it is sold directly in the farm shop, while the 2nd class fruits are pressed to juice or distilled to schnapps. And of course, homemade jam is also a must. In the farm shop you will find seasonal delicacies such as fruit and sweet must as well as textile and decorative articles. It is closed in winter.
We are particularly proud of the excellent quality of the fruit. “Not bigger, but better” is our motto. Thanks to many years of experience and care for the trees throughout all seasons, our fruit is not large and watery, but small and tasty.
If you would like to convince yourself of our fine products or are interested in a guided tour of our farm, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are looking forward to every visit!
