Everyone is welcome in my little cider factory. Not only farmers have their apples pressed to fine apple juice, but also private people with an apple tree in their garden (at least 20 kilos of fruit). Thanks to this broad clientele, I always come into contact with new personalities, which gives me a lot of pleasure in my job. By the way, my father founded the customer cider factory in 1963. He was one of the first in the area to pasteurise apple juice to keep it longer thanks to short-term heating up to 78 degrees.
We process around 100 tons of apples per year using the tried and tested apple varieties from our 65 high pedigrees and the fruits of our customers. This produces 70,000 litres of apple juice. Because we only harvest the apples when they are really ripe and always process the fruit fresh, our apple juice is unique in taste. It can happen that stocks do not last for a whole year. But we always have fresh juice until April. You will find this not only in our small cottage on Hüttnerstrasse in front of our farm (accessible 24 hours a day), but also in the Landi shop in Einsiedeln. In addition to the 1-litre bottles, we fill it into 3-, 5- or 10-litre bag-in-boxes.
Thanks to my wife Rita and our three adult children, who help out on the farm in the evenings, the signs are good that the farm will remain in family hands. Our ancestors took over the farm in 1898 because they also loved working in and with nature. It is close to my heart to keep this tradition alive and to continue the dairy business. You can also try the milk from our 12 cows on site.
We look forward to getting to know you!
